Saint Nicholas

As children, we celebrated St. Nicholas day by putting our shoes outside the classroom. After nap (which didn't happen for most) we would be surprised to find candy in our shoes and delivered by St. Nicholas. Now that I have a family of my own, I am hoping to continue the tradition. We went to visit Santa Claus this year, and my little girl did pretty well. She may not remember anything from this year, but when she get's older, we hope to tell her the story of St. Nicholas and celebrate his feast day on December 6th.

Of course, tomorrow is Christmas Eve, so I think I am going to make some birthday cupcakes to celebrate a special day for someone else important to our family.
Happy Birthday Jesus, and Merry Christmas to everyone!
